This was the 1 reason why I wanted Kerry to win, but it seems now that he too has been gotten to by big business corporations.
They both spout 'ideas' of 5-10yrs more research - infact I'm surprised Bush hasn't suggested a 100yr research period, so we can really do some in depth research and be really, really certain (like with WMD in Iraq?).
So now it's down to the EU to take leadership & do what it can with the rest of the world - perhaps if all the Kyoto states introduced a 'Kyoto Tarriff' penalizing imports from the holdout countries (i.e. USA & Australia) then there would be no more economic advantage in destroying the environment.

Bush: bold vision for space exploration. Perhaps hes not completly grounded in science(i.e saying the moon would be a better place to launch spacecraft or ignoring global warming, yes it is happening) but still he has a bold, worthwhile and a long ovderdue mandate for NASA in which the scientific payoff will be amazing.

Kerry: More grounded in science perhaps. Wants more areonautical research, wants space station to be used to maximum. All good stuff, all the same things NASA said theyve been doing for the past thirty years, more the same. Oh and by the way, well keep a 1960's concept made from 1970's technology flying at least for another twenty years after more than 20 already. Any claim kerry makes that the bush plan is unrealistic is completly negated by the fact that the basis of his plan is the space shuttle. Thinking we can depend on the space shuttle as the sole acess to space for fourty years is just plain sad and just as unrealistic as any bugedtary insconsistencies in the Bush plan. If we plan on doing that then lets just kiss manned space exploration goodbye. We need something new. We need it now. We need a purpose, We need it now. No more spin cycle.

Yes the planet does warm and cool on a global scale. We have winter in the northern hemisphere while the southern has summer and vice versa. But to conclude that the weather is warming up as in the global warming THEORY is much akin to other wild and grand theories out there, one example is evolution. The missing ice? It is completely untrue that 8% of the artic ice is missing. And another fact forgotton is that the water volume is still the same world wide. People also need to know that NATURAL geologic events occur everyday on the planet and inside the planet to affect weather patterns. To dismiss this FACT and to assume a pattern of warming Greenhouse gas theories from driving our cars and burning a coal power plants are just sad cases in an attempt by the extreme left enviromentalist to go back to the stone age. The sighted the Spotted owl need ancient forest to properly live. Well the owl adaptd and moved into Kmart signs. Come on people wake up and smell the coffee. Stop living in a doom and gloom world that most cough cough DEMOCRATS would like you to believe. After all they said G.W. Bush would take away your social security. Hmmmmmmm Hasn't happened yet. People need to stop relying on BIG GOVERNMENT and go out and do things for themselves on there own merits not buying the bank and farm jargon. Space iwll be difficult but no unattainable. Perhaps when you see the major players in America in control then you realize you need other people to start other bussiness's and take the initiative and go into space. And for people information on Burt Rutan spaces vehicles. Look I don't remember Virgin Galactic going any further than LEO while other people want to go beyond LEO and GEO....

Go figure...... Investors $$$$$$$ makes the space program run, not just a capsule of 5 and a space station that will have its leaks in 2-3 more years of life time (Can you say Mir)....
